Use of Label Printers in organized retail is increasing day by day. Label printers are Direct or Indirect thermal printers mainly used to label the products in any retail shop. Thermal label printer produce accurate and durable image which is used widely to print bar codes and batch numbers. This type of printers has the ability to produce exact bar widths that successful bar code printing and scanning require. Advantages of thermal printers are that they don’t use ink, ribbon and other material making them cost effective and instant for barcode and label printing. Most mobile printers use direct thermal technology. If the label printed by thermal label printer exposed to heat or sunlight it may get darken its color causing the bar code unreadable and improper. Thermal label printers are being widely used in many industries like organized retail, shipping industry and other automobiles industry.
Bar code is the formation of the thin and thick lines on the label having some meaning that a barcode scanner can read and interpret making them useful in the automation of inventory management and other economical aspects. Bar code scanners are the devices which are being used to read the bar codes with the help of light source and optical reader. Bar code scanner translates optical impulses to the electronic impulses and interpretable by the computer. A bar code scanner exactly map the width of a particular line and associate it with a predefined number and then send the product number to a terminal. Terminal already has the information of that serial number and associates that number with the related product.
Accuracy of the label printer is important as minor deflection in the width and length of any bar code line can change the entire value of the product and inventory management can go entirely wrong. Zebra label printers are accurate and fast in printing bar codes as they use the latest technology and programming language to define the barcodes and other label material.
